We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and hands-on Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) who can take full ownership of their role, working under the overall guidance and supervision of the Head of Engineering and Technical Support.

At the heart of the Maintenance Technician/Engineer (Mechanical) role is the responsibility to ensure this equipment is reliably available and running at optimal performance—so that our operators can produce the products our customers need.

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, including inspections and troubleshooting.

  • Execute project-related tasks, such as equipment modifications, upgrades, and commissioning activities (FAT, SAT, IQOQ).

  • Plan and manage workload, including ordering spare parts and materials.

  • Serve as Technical Asset Owner and Site SME, ensuring inspection readiness and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Maintain and improve the digital issues, spare parts management and engineering documentation systems.

  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and change control processes.

  • Conduct Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and enhance the Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Program (PPM).

  • Lead Lifetime Extension (LTE) studies to replace obsolete equipment.

  • Train production and maintenance teams to improve equipment knowledge and ownership.

  • Develop engineering solutions for maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Who You Are

  • Our ideal candidate has:

    • An MBO/HBO degree in a relevant technical field.

    • 3-5 years of relevant mechanical fitting experience, preferably within a medical devices, pharmaceutical, or other GMP-related environment.

    • Fluent in English (both verbal and written); Dutch is a plus.

    • Strong decision-making skills within assigned authority, with the ability to escalate when necessary.

    • Knowledge of SOP writing, ensuring procedures are established and updated to meet the latest requirements for all PPM activities.

    • Knowledge of and/or experience with ISO quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001/ISO 13485) is a plus.
